Authorities say a 17-year-old was killed in a motorcycle crash on the Fred Hartman bridge between Baytown and La
Porte Thursday. The Harris County Pct. 8 Constable’s Office said the crash was reported at approximately 11:57 a.m. At least three vehicles, including the motorcycle, were involved in the crash.
Deputies arrived and discovered the 17-year-old male rider of the motorcycle unresponsive. Units from the Baytown Fire Department and EMS also arrived on scene. Medical aid was provided, but the teenager died at the scene.
The southbound lanes of the bridge were shut down as the investigation was conducted. Some lanes were closed until
shortly after 3:30 p.m.
“This case remains under investigation at this time as investigators work to learn the cause of this accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of all those involved, especially the family of the young man who died in this tragic incident,” Pct. 8 said.
