TxDOT closing FM 2100 for bridge replacement

Drivers in Huffman will experience even more disruption in the FM 2100 corridor beginning Friday, January 16 as TxDOT completely closes down the thoroughfare for a major bridge replacement at Luce Bayou.

Since most of the work will be done at night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., the disruption is expected to be minimal.

Here’s the announcement from TxDOT officials:

“TxDOT announces a total closure of FM 2100 in north Harris County in both directions from Afton Way to Idleloch Drive, nightly, beginning at 9 p.m., Friday, January 16 and ending at 5 a.m. Saturdy, January 24. The existing Luce Bayou Bridge will be closed as crews begin setting dek panels for the ongoing $54.8 million project to reconstruct and widen FM 2100 from two to four lanes.

FM 2100 northbound and southbound from Afton Way to Idleloch Drive will be closed each night between Friday, January at 9 p.m. to Saturday, January 24 at 5 a.m.

Detour from southbound FM 2100 by traveling eastbound Idleloch to southbound Doverbrook, then take westbound Afton Way. From northbound FM 2100, travel eastbound Afton Way to northbound Doverbook, and continue to westbound Idlelch.

FM 2100 will reopen at 5 a.m. each morning.”
